The 12th Oxfam TowerRun Now Open for Registration Every Mind Counts. Every Step Transforms Lives
Oxfam held a press conference at the Macau Tower today to officially announce that the 2025 Oxfam TowerRun will be held on 19 October 2025. Registration is now open and will close on 26 September 2025. This year, runners from Macau and around the world will gather at the iconic Macau Tower to mark the event’s 12th anniversary. Under the theme “Every Mind Counts, Every Step Transforms Lives”, participants are encouraged to push their limits while raising vital funds for Oxfam’s poverty alleviation projects, including support for the education and well-being of left-behind children in mainland China.
Supporting Left-behind Children, Every Step Matters
Oxfam is committed to supporting left-behind children in mainland China. “Whether you're a participant, sponsor, or supporter, you’re helping build a movement where every step changes lives and every mind truly counts. The success of this event is made possible by everyone's collaborative efforts. Funds raised from this year's event will support Oxfam's poverty alleviation and development projects, including supporting the educational development and well-being of left-behind children in mainland China —bringing real change to their lives,” said Henry Tang, Acting Director General of Oxfam Hong Kong.
Representatives from various sponsors and supporting organisations were also present at the press conference. Oxfam presented commemorative certificates to express its gratitude for their enthusiastic support and enduring partnership.
Calling for Registration: Support Poverty Alleviation
Through Action Oxfam announced that 2024 World Champion Mr. Soh Wai Ching, and Macau Trail Runner Ms. Vivi Cheung will continue to serve as the event ambassadors for the “2025 Oxfam TowerRun”. The two ambassadors shared their towerrunning experiences and encouraged the public to register for the event in support of Oxfam’s poverty alleviation projects, which aim to improve the lives of left-behind children in mainland China.
An Internationally Recognised Sports Event Meets the Thrill of the National Games
This year's National Games are co-hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau for the first time. Oxfam is honoured to receive the support of the National Games organisers. We aim to leverage this opportunity to attract more runners from mainland China and overseas to learn about and participate in this meaningful sports event, and to collaboratively promote local sports culture.
