Oxfam Trailwalker, one of the world’s greatest team events and one of Hong Kong’s most popular fundraisers, ended successfully this afternoon when the last team crossed the finish line in Yuen Long at 1:52pm today, completing the 100km event in 47 hours 52 minutes.

Dr. Stephen Fisher, Director General of Oxfam Hong Kong, presented certificates to the team and other supporting organisations at the Closing Ceremony.

Stephen Fisher said, “I am honoured to greet the team as they completed this formidable challenge. Stamina, endurance and team spirit are the essence of Oxfam Trailwalker and of Oxfam’s work against poverty around the world. Whether they come first or last, what counts is their determination and commitment in overcoming all the obstacles and difficulties along the trail. Eliminating poverty is also a long and arduous journey, but through concerted efforts with our partners and supporters, the task is not impossible. Our appreciation goes to our sponsors, support organisations and volunteers for their generous contributions to Oxfam Trailwalker 2012.”
This year, 3,951 participants completed the 100km trail within the required 48 hours, or near 84% of all walkers.
