Oxfam Hong Kong’s ‘Cyberschool’ website suspected to have been hacked

On 17 February, the web hosting company of Cyberschool (www.cyberschool.oxfam.org.hk) – Oxfam Hong Kong’s website dedicated to education – suspected hacking activities, which pose the risk of leaked personal data collected by the site. To protect users, we have temporarily suspended collecting personal data (e.g. data collected through the IEC workshop online enrolment system) with immediate effect. We have contacted the Hong Kong Police and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data to follow up on the case.

We are now working with the web hosting company and hope to resume all of the site’s services as soon as possible. Our colleagues will follow up on the IEC workshop enrolment processes by phone during this period. Should you have any enquiries, please contact us on (852) 3120 5180 or education@oxfam.org.hk.
